Li'l Orphan Hammies Pot Bellied
Pig Sanctuary and Rescue needs your help. We rescue and rehabilitate abused,
abandoned and neglected pigs and when possible, we find loving homes for them.
The line of pigs needing our attention is endless, and we need your assistance
in maximizing the number of pigs we are able to accommodate.
We offer tours to seniors and school
and pre-school children. Bring your family out for a visit, bring along some
treats and share in the magic. Sponsorship and volunteer programs offer a way
to contribute, and donations are welcome, and go directly to benefit the pigs.
Gifts of blankets, hay, feed, vet supplies, food treats, kennels, dogloos, rakes,
doghouses and other equipment are appreciated and always welcome.
Our focus is on educating the public
to the reality of pet pig ownership and to instill, especially in children,
the idea that pet ownership is a responsibility for the life of the animal.
Our mission is to provide a safe, clean and loving home for our charges, and
to rehome the ones we can.

Life, Death and “DONATIONS!”
There is truly nothing more magic and mysterious than the event of a birth. The world is a wonderland filled with miracles and marvels, the likes of which can boggle the mind. To think of the perfect harmony and balance it takes for such a place to exist is nothing short of an absolute miracle. We at the sanctuary (for those of you who may not be familiar with the true meaning of “sanctuary” it means a safe place of refuge) have to deal with life throughout its many phases and facets. From birth to death, and all that falls in between, it never ceases to amaze us how much can happen in the lives of every living creature on the planet. Of course we celebrate life when it comes anew into the world but we also celebrate death when one of our residents passes from this world to the next. The happiness each individual pig brings into our lives and the lives of others, along with the memories they have etched in our minds makes each of them a treasure that will last our lifetime. Lately we have had more than our share of tragedies with illnesses and death at Little Orphan Hammies. Each of our guests requires and receives the best medical attention money can buy and also gets love and affection in the form of belly rubs, serenading and cuddling, along with plenty of words of encouragement and praise. The cost of operating a place where pigs are kept happy and healthy at “ANY COST” is very high. The costs we incur on a regular basis would be best met by having a select number of dependable contributors who would be willing to pledge a substantial amount of money monthly or yearly solely for the pig’s maintenance and health needs. All funds are used for the sole purpose of maintaining healthy and happy pigs in an environment with love and affection. There are no words that can properly express our thanks for the generosity of each of our contributors, regardless of the contribution amount. If not for your caring and kindness many of the pig’s needs would not be met. We have sponsorship programs, should you wish to have your very own animal to visit, watch its progress and get to know better. But here at Little Orphan Hammies “ALL” pigs are treated equally and none are considered more worthy or important than another. They are “ALL” important.
